Week 4 6A Rankings

Upsets and big-time wins mean changes in rankings. See below where your team landed this week: 1. Maple Grove = (4-0) Result: W 55-14 vs Anoka Another dominant win against a solid opponent keeps them at #1.  2. Shakopee = (4-0) Result: W 28-7 vs Eden Prairie For the first time all year, I battled to decide who got the first spot after the Sabers' big win over EP. For now, they stay at #2, but things can always change.  3. Lakeville North = (4-0) Result: W 27-20 vs Farmington North stays undefeated as they edge a solid Farmington squad.  4. Minnetonka = (4-0) Result: W 28-7 vs Prior Lake The skippers ride hot this week and remain in the 4th spot.  5. Edina = (3-1) Result: W 48-21 vs Wayzata Edina is starting to pick up some momentum again after dropping earlier this season. Mason west responsible for 6 TDs this week should keep everyone on watch. 6. Eagan +4 (3-1) Result: W 35-33 vs Lakeville South In what might be the program's biggest win in recent years over Lakevi...

Top Matchups Week 4

6A: Eden Prairie at Shakopee, 7 pm The Eagles head to face the Sabers this week. As one of the few remaining undefeated teams, Shakopee faces its first real test of the season at home. Lakeville South at Eagan, 6 pm (Thursday) Coming off a heartbreaking loss in the last seconds against North, Lakeville South heads to Eagan this Thursday. Eagan is starting to gain momentum after their starting 0-1. While some people are down on them we have to remember that singular loss was to #5 Edina. 5A: Andover at Elk River, 7 pm The top team in the 5A class hosts a talented Andover squad on Friday evening. With young studs such as Carsyn Kleffman as well as one of the top athletes in the state, Brecken Keoraj, the Elks aim to stay undefeated.  4A: Faribault at Kasson-Mantorville, 7 pm Both sitting at 2-1 on the season, the Faribault Falcons head over to Kasson-Mantorville. Each team has good talent all across the board. I'm excited to watch this one go down.

Week 3 6A Rankings

Once again the rankings shift quite a bit. With plenty of upsets and rivalry, matchups here are my rankings after week 3: 1. Maple Grove = (3-0) Result: W 21-14 vs Centennial The Crismon are tested by the former 6A champions but pulled out a win to stay atop the rankings. 2. Shakopee = (3-0) Result: W 17-7 vs Wayzata Shakopee has had back-to-back close wins. They take on EP this week and I assume that number will be bumped to 3. 3. Lakeville North +1 (3-0) Result: W 35-31 vs Lakeville South In one of the greatest rivalries in the state, Lakeville North pulls off the Win over South. 4. Minnetonka +1 (3-0) Result: W 35-28 vs Edina The Skippers are improving each week. This week they got to line up across one of the best teams in the state. After being down 21-0, they fought back to steal a 35-28 victory over the Hornets. 5. Edina -3 (2-1) Result: L 28-35 vs Minnetonka I didn't think a loss to the Hornets would happen this soon, but maybe it'll be exactly what this team needs to m...

Top Matchups Week 2

Week 2 is upon us, and with that brings more marquee matchups. Here are my top 4 games: 6A: Eden Prairie at Edina, 7 pm This week’s matchup between #3 Eden Prairie and #4 Edina brings extra intensity after Edina ended EP’s season in last year’s semifinals before losing by just 1 point in the championship. Eden Prairie, driven by revenge and led by top RB Elijah Rumph, looks to make a statement. Edina returns with a potent offense featuring QB Mason West, Meyer Swinney, Trillion Sorrell, Jake Bock, and Chase Bjogaard, aiming to prove last year was no fluke. Expect a hard-fought battle as both teams seek redemption and dominance. Wayzata at Minnetonka, 7 pm The rivalry is back, as the Trojans head to face the skippers tonight. After coming off a huge upset versus Lakeville South, Wayzata is the hottest team in the state. Extremely excited to watch these two squads go at it.  5A: Rogers at Moorhead, 7 pm A lot of people are down on Rogers after losing some top athletes from the previo...

Week 1 6A Rankings

With week 1 officially concluded, it is time to update my rankings for class 6A: 1. Maple grove = Result: W 55-7 vs Osseo From the get-go, this team didn't look back. With multiple takeaways and plenty of touchdowns, the Crimson looked like the number 1 team in the state.  2. Shakopee = Result: W 59-39 vs Hopkins There was never a time in doubt for the Sabers in this one, although Hopkins did make some dents in the defense.  3. Eden Prairie = Result: W 40-6 vs Buffalo Not much to say here. EP came in and took care of business against a lesser opponent.  4. Edina +2 Result: W 35-14 vs Eagan The Hornets looked very good—good enough to jump 2 spots in this week's rankings. I really don't see how anyone can stop this offense between Mason West and the rest of the Division 1 studs. 5. Lakeville North = Result W 27-7 vs Stillwater To me, North came out very flat—not bad, just flat. This team shouldn't be messed with once they get some games under their belt.  6. Minn...
